The Arc of the United StatesThe Arc is the national organization of and for people with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities and their families. It is devoted to promoting and improving supports and services for people with mental retardation and their families. The association also fosters research and education regarding the prevention of mental retardation in infants and young children. Institute on Disability and Human DevelopmentThe Institute on Disability is the federally designated University Center for Excellence (UCD) in Developmental Disabilities for the state of Illinois. There mission includes the promotion of independence, productivity and inclusion of people with disabilities into all aspects of society. Waisman CenterThe Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan.
